Pain and Moving Forward

Recently I was cleaning kitty litter trays in the back yard and wacked my knee a beauty on the garden bed. As you can see in the photo it was hard and I will admit to cursing in a way a drunken sailor would blush.

The pain may have possessed me for a while…

This was my knee just after it happened.

When we feel pain, such as when we touch a hot stove, sensory receptors in our skin send a message via nerve fibres (A-delta fibres and C fibres) to the spinal cord and brainstem and then onto the brain where the sensation of pain is registered, the information is processed and the pain is perceived.

It’s easy to understand and we know we get past it eventually.

My knee is now able to be knelt upon and while bruised the physical pain has faded.

Much like emotional pain.

Let’s explore what emotional pain is it and why it lingers when there’s no physical damage.

What is emotional pain really?

Psychological pain, mental pain, or emotional pain is an unpleasant feeling of a psychological, non-physical origin.

Or heart break, disappointment, bitterness, regret to name a few examples, for the non-jargon approach.

Feelings that bring up old memories, things that linger and take a long time to fade away.

Living in the past of what you wished had of happened that didn’t. AND T.B.H may not have ended in the way you imaged they could have.

The beautiful thing about pain is that you do get better.

Bruises fade.

Cuts heal.

Bones knit together.

There may be days where the healing can feel worse than the original moment, (like my knee, how’s about those bruises five days later!) but when you allow the process of healing to take its course the emotional hurt subsides.

And just like a broken heart, the shock of not getting what you wanted or words spoken unkindly, while there may be scars, the wounds heal and the pain fades.

And one day, while the memories of the moment may rise up again, the pain will lessen and one day serve to be a reminder, a learning and the hurt no longer remains.

Just like my knee….. (lesson to not walk into garden beds)

Stop Feeling Judged and Embrace Your Shadow

I think it’s a rite of passage feeling judged when it comes to showing up on the internet especially when what you have to say is important.

Back when I first went into business, I used to work with teenagers but always had to discuss their signing up with their parents.

That set me up for a lot of judgement because I have never had children.

This got thrown in my face on more than one occasion!

If you ever had somebody turnaround and deliberately misunderstand you and what you stand for in your business, it’s frustrating.

You’re here to serve at a higher level.

You’re here to help, and you spend hours working in and on your business.

Then when somebody tells you you’re wrong, questions you on your knowledge, says that they know better, the stomach churns.

Maybe you even feel like you should quit.

Although that doesn’t last too long, but you sit still in a spot when you are hesitating to speak up, show up and really push your message out there.

Steadily growing your business yet still feel like your a fraud?

You’re not the only one, but if you want to hit the next bracket, the hesitation needs to stop.

10 years ago, attempting to connect with parents so I could help their teenagers was so freaking frustrating.

I contracted my social media presence after a while, I didn’t want to talk to parents on the phone anymore and I realise now, that it wasn’t the parents, it wasn’t the people telling me I was wrong, it was me being denied of what lit me up inside and made me feel good.

This was all my shadow values not being acknowledged.

My knowledge was being dismissed because I didn’t have children (although I had been a teenager, go figure). I was getting negative attention from attempting to serve, people resented me asking to be paid money for a service they decided should be free! (Free doesn’t pay my bills – mums and dads).

My inability to own my own desire from my work, ended up being a part of the reason that the business shut down.

And no one wants to shut their business down.

You want people to recognise your knowledge. You want to get positive attention, to feel good, you have to find a way to own that within yourself.

Does that sound familiar?

Stop looking for external validation and start putting the steps in place to no longer have to worry.

That’s where the gold is, it’s all in you.

This is how you grow your business, take back your life and serve amazing clients.

Transform your inner world and watch your outer world expand.

Bringing Your Body Back To Ultimate Health

While many are feeling stressed out, I took the time to further work on bringing my body back to ultimate health.

When lockdown started here I was placed into a position of having to move house, my fun casual job was completely gone and I had to decide how I wanted to show up with my business.

In the first few months, I will admit my running and fitness routine kinda dropped off the face of the earth.

In this space I had my old injury decide to come back to the party too and as a result a few, what I’m terming “Covid Kilos” paid me a visit as well.

It would have been easy to write it all off as a sign of the times (especially now as stage four lockdown at the time of writing, only permit an hour of exercise outside of your home a day).

I could have validated everything that was happening to my body quite easily.

Instead, I tuned into my bigger picture for my health.

  • Why did I desire to be strong?
  • Why did I want to be pain-free?
  • Why did I enjoy movement?

And how did having all of this support me in my bigger purpose for living?

Who did I help with being fit and strong and pain-free?

It was in these answers that I was once again, internally motivated to start taking the actions I knew would bring me back to peak performance states. This impacted not only my physical body but my mental wellbeing.

  • I now drink my collagen daily to support healthy skin, bones, and muscles.
  • I see my physio, chiro, and remedial masseuse consistently.
  • I have my wonderful friend do distance healing which also works on my business DNA, which is super cool.
  • I purchased a Healy so I can work on my cellular body because vibration and frequency adjustment will mean better sleep (among many other things).

All good right?

Why do I feel compelled to share this?

Even if you do not have the means to buy collagen drinks, Healys, or book sessions with a hands-on health professional, you can do something today.

And, that’s to decide you are worthy of a healthy and fit body.

That, your reason for being on the planet can inspire you to do whatever you can do in your circumstances, to honour your body for your most inspired future.

That, no matter what the external circumstances, you are in control of your outcomes. Your body is one example of how it shows up for you.

In your sleeping habits. How much TV you watch. What you eat with thought versus a mindless craving.

Some things are out of our control, but you always have the ability to control how you show up.

And if you want to know more about collagen, the Healy, or anything else I’m doing and how it can impact you positively, message me. I am always happy to share what I know and point you in the direction of more information.
